£1,700 profit raised for charity as more than 100 people enjoyed a sun soaked afternoon tea party in the gardens of West Green house, Hartley Wintney on Tuesday 27th August 2013

What a fantastic afternoon. A wonderful tea (supplied by Rachel of Beautiful Celebration Cakes), music from Quintissentially Wind, local craft and produce stalls, a raffle, tombola, a charity auction and goodie bags for all. The venue was the lovely West Green Gardens (you really must go if you haven't seen this tucked away jewel near Hartley Wintney). Even the August sun came out to bathe the gardens in its golden glow.

As guests arrived, they were met with a welcome drink (a sparkling home made elderflower cordial). A brisk trade took place at the raffle stall and the tombola and guests used their goodie bags to good effect as they bought soaps, sweets, cards, crafts and jewelery and even beans and marrows from the stalls. Guests wandered through the various gardens as the music from the talented musicians hung in the air, adding their own chords to the atmosphere. Tea was served to the tables - sandwiches, cakes and home made scones, plus of course tea or coffee depending on your preference. The chatter of conversation  - new made friends and reunions - saw smiles from everyone as the afternoon passed all too quickly. What more could you want from afternoon tea in a lovely English garden?

The day was organised by Sue Hinton, co-owner of Blush, supported by friends, staff, clients and helpers from Parity. £1,700 profit was raised and our thanks go to all who helped to raise this fantatic sum. We must also thank Marylyn Abbott who lent us the use of her gardens, which she as been restoring and re-creating for the last decade.
